Tereset Trouble

Part One: The Collision
by Sam Wildman

Warren Carmichael stepped onto the deck of the ship the Tereset. It was a large ship, the largest luxury ship in the galaxy. It cruised for ten light years (three weeks for the people on board).

Warren was glad to be part of the crew. He had many family problems on Earth. His mother and father were seperated and in an everlasting custody battle for Warren's five brothers and sisters. Warren was sixteen and allowed to leave the house. He and his infant son, Jackson, left Earth for something less stressful.

It was the second week of the voyage. The Tereset was on a return course for Earth. Warren made his regular rounds on his security post. He felt the loud thud against the ship and was thrown against the corridor wall.

Something had hit the Tereset. Something...

Captain Joseph Smark was fully aware of the gapping hole in the side of the Tereset. He was fully aware of the lives lost. He was hopeful that the ship would continue moving back to Earth. He was hopeful...

Yste Reves rocked Jack's craddle and tried to comfort the crying baby. She too was aware of the colllision. She too was hopeful that all was well. She continued to care for the baby like nothing had happened...

Ten people were aware of the sudden collision in the middle of the night. They knew or soon would know that it would mean death ten times worse than Earth's own TITANIC. Ten times worse...
